Research Service on ABC Transporters
Drug Screening with ABC Transporters (Substrate Specificity and Inhibition Studies)
Testing of substrate specificity and inhibitory effects of compounds is offered as a research service, by means of “ATPase Assay” and “Membrane Vesicle Assay” using ABC transporter-expressing membranes from an insect Sf9 cell system. The results are expected to be helpful for evaluation of drug disposition in various organs, including bile acid excretion, hepatotoxicity, and transport at the small intestine or blood-brain barrier.
Gene Expression Profiling It is very important for prediction of drug disposition in humans to determine expression levels of transporters in various tissues or cultured cells (“Expression Profiling”). ”Expression Profiling” by quantitative PCR is available as a research service for 47 kinds of human ABC transporters.
Analysis of Human MDR1 Polymorphism
GenoMembrane undertakes polymorphism analysis of the human MDR1 (P-glycoprotein)-related genome area, covering the transcription-regulatory regions and the amino acid coding regions. GenoMembrane is exclusively licensed for polymorphism analysis of transcription-regulatory regions that influence the expression level of human MDR1.
